Connecting Audiences with Creative Visionaries
What is Filmstock?
Filmstock began in 2009 to screen local short films in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area, and for the next three years continued to grow into an event that curated not only Southwestern films, but films from around the world.
In 2013, Filmstock continued its mission by connecting filmmakers with audience members from the American Southwest, and expanded to all of the Four Corners states.
In 2014, Filmstock had its biggest year yet, with more films than ever pouring in, and more eager film fans looking forward to watching them and meeting their filmmakers! This is also the year the festival relocated to the scenic Mill Avenue during the Tempe Festival of the Arts, giving its festival-goers a much richer experience.
Now in 2015, Filmstock will return to beautiful downtown Tempe for its sixth annual year!
What awards are there?
Filmstock offers three main awards at each event: Best of Fest, Audience Choice, and Best Actor. Additional certificate awards for each event are announced alongside official selections for that event.
